Healthy Swimming Practices

Healthy Swimming Practices

Swimming is a popular low impact activity that is great for improving general health and wellbeing. While swimming is fun and a great way to stay fit and active, it is important to remember that you share the pool with others and that heathy swimming practices are important in keeping the water clean. Follow the 5 healthy swimming steps to help keep the pool clean and stop the spread of germs.

Five simple steps people can take to help keep the water clean:

  • Do not swim if you have diarrhoea or for 14 days after a diagnosis of crypto.
  • Shower and wash with soap, especially your bottom, before swimming.
  • Wash your hands with soap after going to the toilet or changing a nappy.
  • Change nappies in nappy change areas only.
  • Avoid swallowing pool water.
