The Attendant Support Initiative Program provides attendant care support for people with a disability, people with low levels of English and older people to access Brimbank Leisure Centres by having a support person with them while they are in the facility. This includes access to swimming pools and gyms.
The Attendant Support staff will build relationships with program participants and clients to support their physical activity pursuits and create social connection opportunities.
With improved access to our facilities, the Attendant Support Initiative can help you to improve your health and fitness, participation, connection with the community and overall health and wellbeing.
Personalised support and assistance is provided for entering the centre, accessing aquatics area (all pools), gymnasium, facility equipment, personal changing process and support for the duration of the desired recreation activity.
In order to cater to your individual needs, we first work with you to create a personalised program. This program assists us to provide the best possible individual care and helps us match you to the right Support Worker.
